Spectrum Lens: Blend Brown Review

If you're a cosplayer, you must have realized by now how impossible it is to find the perfect pair of orange contact lenses. It's either too light and natural that it doesn't look orange anymore, or it makes your eyes look like they're on perpetual fire. Fortunately, I found the perfect pair to get the orange peepers I really need.

Because Serendipity Btq had another 10-day sale, I took the chance because I was really desperate to find an orange pair. The owner suggested a few pairs that had an orange touch to them and gave me links to their photos, and surprisingly, Blend Brown caught my attention.

I couldn't find the model photo for the brown lenses.
I could already tell from the name that this pair claims to blend naturally into your natural eye color. Let's give it a shot, shall we?

When I received the pair, I was terrified that it would make my eyes look like they're on fire. The orange was more vibrant than I expected it to be in person. But then I thought, I only paid Php200 for this pair so it should be fine. I can simply buy a new pair if I didn't like it.

Diameter: 14.2 mm
Base curve: 8.5 mm
Water content: 42%

Upon closer inspection, it was clear that the design of the lens is not perfectly solid like my Jewel Candy Blue pair. The design was more like scattered speckles of dark brown and bright orange, and they somehow blend into the outer ring of the lens.

For Blend Brown's enlargement power, there's not too much. It focuses more on brightening my eyes and giving it some pop of color. It makes my eyes noticeable, but not larger.

Without flash, this pair looks like a subtle mix of brown and orange. With flash, the orange pops out even more. This pair isn't very noticeable, and I realized this when people only realized that I was wearing contact lenses whenever they were a personal speaking distance away from me. But when I'm about five or more steps away, they're hardly noticeable.

I think that the color blends pretty decently into my naturally dark brown eyes, but not too natural that it makes it seem that I'm not wearing lenses. For me, this works well because I can use it for casual/daily wear without scaring people out.

The color and effect was somewhat similar to my past Spice Honey lenses, but the diameter is a tad bit larger. Honestly, I'm pretty satisfied because this was the shade I was really going for.

However, due to the vibrant color, I find that this pair tends to dry out after a few hours. Whenever I wear these, I always make sure to bring some contact lens solution with me.

Overall:
Comfort: 4/5
Design: 5/5
Enlargement: 2/5

Have you ever had a certain color of contact lenses that are very hard to find?

This is not a sponsored review.
Thank you for reading! Bye bye :)
