I'm moving blogs!

Hello, reader!

I want to quickly announce that I am moving my cosplay blog into thewrongalice-cosplay.tumblr.com. BUT I won't delete this blog, or any of the posts, because I have posted reviews here that might still be of help to others. With that said, this will be my last post and I won't update this blog anymore. My new blog will still be a partner of Infinity Studios.

It was hard for my to decide to leave Blogspot since this was my first blogging love, but I found that this wasn't the best platform for me to share my cosplay and related experiences. This site has become a little buggy and since it has no mobile app (and the site isn't very mobile-friendly) and managing it on the go has become difficult.

I recently made a personal(ish) aesthetic blog on Tumblr and found that Tumblr is a better platform for me to reach out to other people who are interested in the same things as I am. It has a better feedback system, in my opinion, and I can connect to more people that way.

Blogspot isn't completely a terrible blogging platform. I think it's a great platform if you're interested in blogging, but the site hasn't been very helpful for me recently. It's just my personal preference.

With that being said, I say goodbye to my first blog and say hello to my new one.

Cheers to moving on!

Love, Aki.

Tutorial: Gradient Lips

I know that there are millions of different tutorials on how to make gradient lips scattered all around the world wide web, and the world hardly needs another tutorial. But I decided to share my knowledge and show different tips and tricks on how to achieve different styles of gradient lips.

This style of lip makeup is a widely popular Korean trend, also known as 'lip ombre' or 'just bitten' style. It makes the lips look smaller and stained, without accentuating the lip lines strongly or overdrawing them.

Recent Haul from Korean Story!

After being on a 'budget lockdown' for quite some time, I decided to save up some money to splurge a little bit with Korean Story once again. This time, I wanted to buy a couple of items that Etude House released and were hard to find in the Philippines.

Wig Review: The Second Nachname

If you're a regular buyer of wigs from Taobao, you may have most likely heard of The Second Nachname as a popular wig supplier. Most of their wigs boast of good quality and their prices are a little bit more on the higher range but I've heard nothing but praise from buyers of this brand.

Still Lost: Ozine Fest AFS 2015

And here goes last year's end of the year event! Ozine was kind enough to organize the closing convention for 2015, giving everyone a chance to celebrate their inner geek before 2016 rolls in.

Cosplay Summary 2015

I must say, 2015 has been a roller coaster of emotions on my part but I am happy to look back at this year's cosplays and view them as achievements. This year has been very kind to me in terms of my hobby. 2015 was a year of very exciting opportunities.

Let's look back at the past 365 days, shall we?

Makeup Review: Etude House Lash Perm Curl Fix in 01 Black

Not too long ago, I joined Etude House's Instagram contest without that much thought. I faintly remember telling my mom that EH was holding a contest where you had to create a look around the idea of colored eyelashes to win their new Lash Perm Curl Fix mascara, and she pushed me to join. After all, in her words, I had nothing to lose.

Makeup Review: Berrisom Oops! My Lip Tint pack in Sexy Red

I love lip tints. I don't like them - I love them. Ever since the trend of gradient/just bitten/Popsicle stained lips started making its rounds through the beauty circle here in the Philippines, popularized by Korean female idols and actresses, I simply fell in love.

Photoshoot with Moonstruck Creatives for Fantasy Quest!

One of the many pleasures I enjoy in cosplay is working with people that I recognize and look up to. It has always given me an amazingly pleasant feeling to know that I am in the company of people who are not only amazing cosplayers, photographers and artists, but wholesome persons overall.

I've had the honor of working with Moonstruck Creatives and Fantasy Quest last May 27, 2015 to shoot promotional content for the upcoming Fantasy Quest 4: An August Wayfaring!

Taking Flight: Fantasy Quest 4

As much as the VIP day of Fantasy Quest 4 was exciting and eventful, so was the actual event. Even more cosplayers flocked to Fernwood Gardens to join the event and for a chance to catch a glimpse of attending guests from many different countries and to participate in this year's festivities.

Lost In Wonderland: Fantasy Quest 4 VIP Day

Fantasy Quest at last! It's been a good two years ever since Fantasy Quest 3, and I've missed this magical event so much. This year, I decided to push for the VIP ticket to enjoy the full experience with my brother.

Korean Beauty Mini-haul + Korean Story Shop Review

I'm not very into talking about hauls and stuff like those because most of the time I don't usually see the point of talking about things that you shop and buy for yourself. But I guess hauls and things like that give viewers a sort of avenue to discover different products and brands so I thought I'd give it a shot.

This blog post is not sponsored, in case you were wondering.

Of Shoes and Ships: Explaining Cosplay to Your Parents

At one point in any cosplayer's life, they have encountered resistance from what seems to be one of the most important people in anyone's life - their parents.

I agree that explaining cosplay to your parents can be pretty much like explaining rocket science. Most of the time, your parents are clueless about this hobby and at the first time they hear it, they'll most probably be against it.

In Retirement: Otaku Expo Reload 2015

Just before I jumped into the first semester of my third year in college, I had the most wonderful opportunity to do what I love to do the most before I tackle another year of responsibility and study.

Otaku Expo Reload is one of the known, smaller events that usually make its rounds in social media about once or twice a year. This year, it was held at Megatrade Hall, albeit the area they provided was a little bit cramped, cosplayers and enthusiasts of the like flocked to join the event.

The event occupied only a single hall, surprisingly, because other events for other lifestyle hobbies were also taking place in nearby convention halls. The corridors of the mall were lined with many cosplayers in attractive costumes for the whole day.

Makeup Review: Majolica Majorca Majolook Illuminator in BR799 (Voluptuous)

I've had sudden interest in Japanese makeup products lately, probably because a friend of mine pointed out that I have quite a lot of Korean-based products and teased me that I started to look like a Korean because of my makeup. I don't know why that piqued my interest to branch out to Japanese brands, maybe because I want to look Japanese for a change? (Kidding!)

QT Lens: Hanabi Gold Review + GWYSHOP review

I have no idea why people suddenly turn to me for  their cosplay or beauty-related questions like I'm sort of help desk (which I don't mind at all). But for this week, my Secretary and I were going crazy over a lot of questions being sent into my messages and most of them were questions that were concerned with makeup and contact lenses.

Which is why I have decided to finally write-up a review of a pair of lenses that I bought from GWYSHOP some time ago. A lot of people have been asking what lenses I use for my Kisshou/Benio cosplay, and I get a lot of comments saying that the EOS Blytheye Brown I previously recommended is always so expensive or hard to find.

Wig Review: BlueBeard

First of all, before we jump into the review, I just want to apologize dearly for being such an inactive blogger. If you didn't know, a lot of things just happened it's been a very tiring and hectic two months. But here I am, writing once more, and I am proud to say that I have survived what might have been the most difficult months of this year.

Now, on to the review.
